EIA Improvement Project - 2. Community Guide to EIA

Guideline 2: Community Guide to Environmental Impact Assessment

The community will benefit from guidance on EIA and its stages and this will help them to engage with proponents and the Department.

EIA is a complex process. Community feedback is essential to EIA and it is important that everyone can provide feedback in the most effective ways. This guideline equips community members to know when and how they can participate by outlining the opportunities to participate at each phase of EIA, what information the community can expect to receive and how the community’s knowledge and opinions will be used by the proponent and the Department.
