The Department of Planning and Environment is inviting feedback on its proposed social impact assessment guidelines for State significant mining, petroleum production and extractive industry developments (SSD resource projects).
The draft guidelines have been prepared to provide greater clarity, consistency and transparency around how to identify, assess and respond to the social impacts of SSD resource projects as part of the overall environmental impact assessment. They will drive better social outcomes, and give communities a stronger voice, from project design through to post-approval.
We welcome your feedback on the draft guidelines. Submissions can be made until 3 March 2017.
