St Leonards and Crows Nest - Draft Special Infrastructure Contribution Plan

Many thanks for your planning exhibition on Tue 30th Oct.
Although I do not agree with the metro station two 27 storey towers +
another one of 17 where the Crows Nest P.O. used to be, which is not
the original plan published in the Mosman Daily in 2016 and again in a
newsletter in June 2017, creating another wind corridor, higher
traffic, more carbon dioxide and not enough parking, recreational
parks, may I suggest the following to improve and counteract your
planning for this area.
1) To make the block of land corner Hume St and Clarke St an extension
park to the Hume St park, with trees, benches and the Metro exit
covered as an atrium or part glass enclosure letting in more sunlight.
2) Convert ALL new high rises as green areas, protected adequately so
children can play in and families could enjoy.
3) Plan for aged care, ie. all lower floors for elderly persons, so
they can be nearer to the hospitals and medical facilities, also
walking distance to shops, etc.
4) Why not use the old ABC's vacant land in Gore Hill for the new
planned school, a multiple storey to accommodate the numbers of
students, with PLENTY of underground parking, PLAYGROUND / green area,
possibly an indoor pool, sports facilities?
5) Also, it would be better to extend the metro line from Chatswood to
Brookvale or Dee Why OR use the planned Northern Beaches tunnel for
another metro inline INSTEAD of increasing car traffic, since we and
you are talking about decreasing cars in this area!
6) You do realise that all residents living in Lithgow St, will be
using the ONLY access to reach their homes via Oxley St, as you plan
to close the Pacific Highway access / exit, so some consideration has
to be put in place for pedestrians, ie. a zebra crossing at the level
of St Leonards Fitness First gym.
7) To cut out traffic noise on Pacific Highway, please insist that al
those buildings have double / triple glazing in all this units facing
Pacific Highway.
Hopefully this can help you in your further planning before your final
decisions are made. Thank you for this opportunity to submit my
thoughts.
