Grove St Residents group, dulwich Hill NSW, made the following submission on the project:

Revised Sydenham to Bankstown Corridor Urban Renewal Corridor Strategy

I am writing on behalf of the residents of Grove St Dulwich Hill and the Grove St Residents Group. We have an 8 story at rear and 4 storeys at front development in our street. We no longer have sun on the front of our homes from 2pm - for 2 months of the year. We no longer have privacy in the front of our homes or in our back gardens. The number of dwelling for the block has risen from the planned 180 (see IWC Traffic and Parking Studies) to more than 400. The developments for the site consistently breached the LEP for the area. Currently there are 20 residents opposite. The Light rail is already at capacity during peak hour. The noise and dust from construction has been over whelming and exhausting for residents for the last 2 years and continue. Street parking is already at capacity. Denison Rd is dangerous for pedestrian to cross during peak hour and has lead to injury. Johnson Park and Laxton Reserve are at capacity at week-ends and after school hours. Fathers are seen stacking out tables in the park for birthdays from 6:30am.

Our community could not sustain a development several times larger than this one. We ask for a reduced, measured development for this site which retains the diversity and character of Dulwich Hill. Which has more open space and can be able to be supported by the facilities such as schools, hospitals, doctors which we have. We implore that the low income housing be retained in this block.
