Revised Sydenham to Bankstown Corridor Urban Renewal Corridor Strategy

1. I really think that the area bounded by King, Princess, Minter and Unwin St should remain low density housing. There is a good balance of units and houses here already and it should stay the same, especially if there are going to be blocks up to 12 or more stories closer to the station. There are also still remaining federation and Californian bungalow houses over 100 years old in this area that should be preserved. Building along King St will block outlooks and views for all those behind them in Jeffrey and Minter Sts. I know developers are after the block between King and Jeffrey St but someone has to tell them no! Trees, gardens and attractive houses will be lost. Perhaps at least only allow town house/villas in this block.

2. The area around Tincombe St should remain low rise as well . Theres aenough industrial /commercial land in the area to preserve suburbs with trees and gardens.

3. Canterbury Racecourse must stay as parks and especially sporting fields which are scarce in the district with rising participation.

4. The "green" bit proposed on Jeffrey St between Unwin and princess St is a great idea as long as it doesn't reduce parking in the street which is already at capacity. Resident permits would have to be put in place. It is practically impossible to park in my street now if you get home after 7pm.

5. Please limit the high rise nearer the station to 12 stories. It will just become a lifeless wind tunnel like Mascot, Maroubra and Green Square.
