Revised Sydenham to Bankstown Corridor Urban Renewal Corridor Strategy

I NOTE THAT YOU HAVE RELEASED A REVISED STRATEGY FOR THE SYDNEHAM TO BANKSTOWN URBAN RENEWAL CORRIDOR.
THE STRATEGY HAS PROPOSED AN ADDITIONAL 2000 DWELLINGS FOR THE SUBURB OF DULWICH HILL. THE SUBURB CURRENTLY HAS NUMEROUS DEVELOPMENTS CURRENTLY BEING BUILT AND PROPOSED. THE SUBURBS AMENITY HAS BEEN RUINED BY THE RAPACIOUS DEVELOPMENT OF THE AREA. TRAFFIC HAS BECOME INTOLERABLE AND THE PUBLIC INFRASTRUCTURE HAS BECOME EXTREMELY CONGESTED. WE CANNOT BOARD THE LIGHT RAIL IN THE PEAK HOUR AS A RESULT OF THE CURRENT DEVELOPMENT ON THE LIGHT RAIL CORRIDOR. TRAVELLING ON THE HEAVY RAIL HAS ALSO BECOME EXTREMELY CONGESTED. JUST BECAUSE AN AREA HAS ACCESS TO PUBLIC TRANSPORT, THIS SHOULD NOT BE USED AS AN EXCUSE FOR OVER- DEVELOPMENT. THERE ARE CURRENTLY MASSIVE DEVELOPMENTS ON NEW CANTERBURY ROAD, OLD CANTERBURY ROAD AND THE DULWICH HILL SHOP PRECINCT. I HAVE LIVED IN THE AREA FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS AND CANNOT BELIEVE WHAT HAS BEEN ALLOWED TO BE DEVELOPED. I AM NOT AGAINST DEVELOPMENT, PER SAY, HOWEVER WHEREVER THERE ARE INFILL SITES, THE COUNCIL AND THE NSW GOVERNMENT HAS ALLOWED DEVELOPMENT OF UP TO 10 STOREYS. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE IN A DENSELY PACKED SUBURB LIKE DULWICH HILL. PARTICULARLY WHERE YOU HAVE MANY HERITAGE DWELLINGS. HURLSTONE PARK HAS BEEN SPARED OF MUCH DEVELOPMENT. WE DEMAND THE SAME CONSIDERATION,. AS STATED BEFORE, WE ARE NOT AGAINST DEVELOPMENT. WE HAVE ENOUGH DEVELOPMENT IN THE SUBURB AND HAVE CONTRIBUTED ENOUGH TO THE CITY'S SHORTFALL OF DWELLINGS. PLEASE RESPECTFULLY CONSIDER THIS OBJECTION.
