Change to mining policy

I strongly support Minister Stokes change.
It was former Minister Chris Hartcher who first introduced the 'resource significance' clause, and it is widely believed it was introduced at the request of Rio Tinto after the NSW Supreme Court knocked back the company's proposed Warkworth coal mine expansion,
Hartcher's unfair rule change was designed to ensure that mining company profits trump the public interest when a decision is made on a coal mine project - no matter how big the impacts on biodiversity or local communities.
This is patently unfair and we applaud Minister's Stokes for his strong and fair change
